Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanics

 

We’re hiring Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanics to join our growing team in Williams Lake, British Columbia.

The position requires experience repairing Heavy-duty equipment as a Red Seal certified mechanic including but not limited to servicing, troubleshooting, adjusting, overhauling and maintaining hydraulics, attachments, drive trains, tracked vehicle suspensions and steering and all types of mobile heavy-duty construction equipment with limited supervision and direction.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

·     •    Communicate with co-workers
•    Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
•    Complete work reports and maintenance logs
•    Daily inspection of dozers, excavators, graders, haul trucks, scrapers, loaders and other heavy equipment for proper performance, and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
•    Diagnosing faults or malfunctions to determine the extent of repair required
•    Adjust equipment, repair/replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools
•    Testing repaired equipment for proper performance with work meeting manufacturers’ specifications
•    Clean, lubricate and perform other daily and scheduled routine maintenance work on equipment
•    Service attachments and working tools such as blades, ploughs, winches and side booms
•    Provide ongoing and preventative maintenance for all heavy equipment
•    Participate in pre-job hazard assessments & inspections prior to commencing any job
•    Follow and complete work orders including recording parts used by part number and quantity
•    Continuous effort to improve operations, decrease down-times, and streamline work processes
•    Regularly perform Safety inspection of equipment following procedures and good mechanical practices
•    Diagnose and confirm faults or malfunctions to determine repair or replace status
•    Clean tools and equipment check for defects, maintain/repair as require
•    Communicate with co-workers and perform other related tasks as needed
•    Record parts used by part number and quantity
•    Perform routine maintenance
•    Demonstrate effort to improve operations, decrease down-time, and streamline processes
•    Inspect and diagnose equipment for defects, faults, malfunctions, and proper performance
•    Follow equipment maintenance schedule and ongoing preventative maintenance
•    Follow safety procedures and ensure good mechanical practices
•    Perform other related tasks as needed

•    Clean shaven face (fit test requirement)
•    Competency in email communications
•    Experience working on mine site an asset
•    Basic welding skills

PPE: Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, High Viz clothing, CSA Boots, Half Mask Respirator w/P100 Filter

Fit Test: Valid fit test for half mask respirator by licensed tester
