Experienced Surveyor Technician
Experienced Surveyor Technician wanted to join our growing team in the Williams Lake, BC area.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret drawings, plans and diagrams to perform required work
- Work safely in a mining or civil construction environment following the procedures and policies that are in place
- Play a critical role in ensuring your own safety and the safety of others
- Daily 360° inspection of all equipment for operational and safety checks
- Operate various Survey equipment including but not limited to Total Station, Laser, Transit, Tripod, Grade Rods, Hand Levels, Stakes, Paint, and Tape, to establish and mark property boundaries, elevations and grades
- Document results, perform daily field reports summarizing observation and calculations
- Save and upload all survey data on a daily basis.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure work performed fully adheres to specified and established grades
- Double check grades and help the Supervisor and operators make sure quality is met
- Daily communication with operators, sub contractors, Construction Supervisor(s) and Project Managers
- Read and interpret drawings, plans and diagrams to perform required work
- Oblige to Health and Safety Procedures and Processes while performing inspection of tools and equipment
- Follow vehicle and tool maintenance schedule and advise if repair is required
Requirements:
- MUST reside currently in Canada and be eligible to work in Canada.
- MUST pass mandatory pre-access Drug screen and complete a Respiratory Fit Test.
- Class 5 Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and ability to provide a clean Drivers Abstract.
- Strict attention and compliance with vehicle cleanliness, maintenance schedules and completing logs.
- Be safety conscious and extremely comfortable driving in all types of inclement weather to get to and from worksites or point of company-based transportation.
- EIT, GIT, Mine Tech, or Degree in relevant fields; Exceptional knowledge of GPS, GIS, AutoCAD, Survey (Topcon, Trimble) and MS Office; Proficient reading drawings, plans and blueprints.
- Proficient skill in using Microsoft Suite.
- Experience in open pit/underground mining preferred with solid organizational and time management skills
- Ability to communicate and report effectively; diligence and decisiveness; Strong desire to lifelong learning; Tech Savvy - aptitude in math/problem solving.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor with effective communication and people skills
- Positive safety behaviours with ability to work safely and effectively
- Ability to work both DAY and NIGHT Shifts with unpredictable and/or strict deadlines
- Ability to interact positively with co-workers and supervisors
- Willingness to learn and gain adequate knowledge and experience through training
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions and managing up to 50lbs
- Stable work record with preferred experience in an industrial, civil, or mining environment
- Ability to complete mandatory internet-based Orientation and Indoctrination training and certification.
